Most EVENTS have been Cancelled

Greetings Amazing Vikings:

I know many of you may have received our Superintendent’s communication regarding COVID19.  Along with the Superintendent’s directives, here is an update on events at MVHS

  • The choir concert and choir senior night will still take place tonight.  Only 100 guests will be allowed and efforts are being made to have the event live-streamed.
  • SCVC competition at VDL will take place this morning.  SCVC has modified the event in a manner so that the choir will remain on the bus until it is time for them to perform. They will return to the bus immediately after their performance and return to MVHS.
  • Band Concert scheduled for next Friday will be cancelled and a CD will be created instead.
  • All Athletic events are cancelled effective today until April 6 (Practices may continue as scheduled)
  • Huntington Library Field Trip is cancelled.
  • National History Day has been modified to a virtual event.
  • Odyssey of the Mind State Competition has been cancelled.
  • First Tech World Championship Robotics event scheduled to be in Houston, Texas has been cancelled.
  • All Winter Guard Competitions for the remainder of the season have been cancelled.
  • AVID Road Trip has been cancelled. Funds will be reimbursed to students.
  • Freshman Orientation has been cancelled.
  • SHARP Dance Competition to Knotts Berry Farm has been cancelled.
  • Saturday STEAM has been cancelled.
  • All field trips are cancelled through April 6.
  • At this time, there are no plans to alter prom or grad night.  We will continue to evaluate as these dates grow closer.
