“Excellence on Purpose”

Dear Parents, Families, and Community Members:

As the new Principal of Moreno Valley High School, I am energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our students. Although I am new as the principal, I am no stranger to this site and the community.  I began my administrative career here at MVHS in 2004 serving until 2013. I am honored for the opportunity to continue the great work began by those who served before me. We will accomplish this by setting high academic expectations and ensuring that the appropriate support systems are in place to attain optimum results.  We will adhere to the Mission and Strategic Plan of Moreno Valley Unified School District.

The staff of Moreno Valley High school is committed to “Excellence on Purpose”. Our goal is to continue to maintain a safe environment conducive to learning as well as to provide students with the necessary academic/social skills which will empower them to be functioning members of our community and to be college and career ready.

Moreno Valley High School is an AVID Demonstration school, a distinction that has only been given to 126 schools nationwide. Our school also offers a variety of academic programs aligned to Common Core Standards and programs that help develop the social and emotional competency of our students.  We offer programs such as Building Assets and Reducing Risk (BARR)freshman intervention program, English 3D program for English Learners, AVID, Core and Elective Honors and AP classes, and Career Technical Education classes. In addition, our school has a growing Visual and Performing Arts department offering Orchestra and Marching Band, Choir, Ballet Folkloric, Advanced Art, and Ceramics.

Newly added to our repertoire of offerings are: Discrete Mathematics, Advance Journalism, Law Enforcement/Corrections and Rehab Services, Teacher Career Academy, Mandarin Language, and Mariachi. Our School is also digitally ready and has 1 to 1 devices available to all students for onsite use.  Students have personal email and Google Drive accounts and are able to access Google Docs, Google Classroom, Infinite Campus, SCHMOOP, and other computer based academic programs and applications

Moreno Valley High School is also under modernization with site renovations and improvements. Added to our site will be new state of the art buildings, and a Culinary Arts Academy.  The expected completion date for these projects will be during the Fall of 2019.
