Principal's Message

Principal’s Message:

Dear Parents, Families, and Community Members of Moreno Valley High School:

This message is being sent in hopes that you and your family continue to be in good health and are safe. Welcome to the 2022/2023 school year!!

As the Principal of Moreno Valley High School, I can attest that WE, as a Staff at “The” Moreno Valley High School are energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our students. We are honored for the opportunity to serve the community of Moreno Valley High School as we conquer the challenges in front of us and to lay the foundation on a pathway post-high school for our amazing students. We will continue to set high academic expectations and ensure that the appropriate support systems are in place to attain optimum results. I believe that together we can do this!

At Moreno Valley High School, we uphold the “Viking Way'' Code of Honor, where our students are Respectful, Responsible, and Resilient, as they own their path moving forward. Whether our students are on campus, or off, we expect ALL Vikings to uphold our values, as Moreno Valley High school is committed to “Excellence on Purpose”, as we “Shine Brighter” each day. Our focus is to build positive relationships, host a culturally responsive environment, and provide multi-tiered systems of support in efforts to raise student achievement empowering our students to be college and career ready.

Moreno Valley High School is an AVID Demonstration school, a distinction that has only been given to a few schools nationwide. Our school offers a variety of academic programs aligned to the California State Standards, as well as those that help build the social and emotional competency of our students. We offer programs such as Building Assets and Reducing Risk (BARR) for our freshmen class, an English 3D program for English Learners, Core Academic and Elective courses, as well as Honors and AP courses, and Career Technical Education studies. In addition, our school has a growing Visual and Performing Arts Department offering Orchestra and Marching Band, Choir, Theater, Technical Theater, Ballet Folklorico, Advanced Art, and Ceramics. As a 21st Century Learning Exemplar School, our teachers provide the opportunity for students to demonstrate learning experiences through collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking.

Our repertoire of offerings also includes: Robotics, Esports, Dual Enrollment, Law Enforcement/Corrections and Rehab Services, Business Academy, Contemporary Digital Media, Welding Technology, Mandarin Language, French, and Mariachi. Our School is also digitally ready where each student is assigned a 1:1 Chromebook device. Students have a school email and Google Drive account and are able to access Online Textbooks, Google Docs, Google Classroom, SHMOOP, Zoom, ScreenCastify, and other computer-based academic programs and applications.

As an update, Moreno Valley High School is currently in the final phases of modernization with site renovations and improvements. The expected completion date for all projects will be during the Winter of 2024.
